An Inconvenient Truth

Global warming is a common term that we hear it nowadays. There is no doubt that we face a big problem and the issue of global warming is seriously looked at in Al Gore’s world winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

In this movie Al Gore explains what is global warming is in simple words and the atmosphere part in our lives and what the greenhouse gases do to the atmosphere. He talked about the possibility of the return of the ice age and he supported his ideas with scientific proofs. He also mentions that the increase in earth heat causes a lot of natural disasters like tornados and floods. He also added the effect of the heat on the land like dryness witch damage the land. He shifted to the danger of melting ice in the North Pole and how that will cool the ocean and cause another ice age or make the sea level high and drowns the cities on the coasts. At the end of the movie he suggests some solutions for this phenomenon like investing and consumes renewable energy and using new technology which decreases the pollution and he encourages people and government to use these solutions.

My Reaction

I think that this movie talk about an important and serious issue which is Global Warming. It makes people think about the future of the earth and the amount of greenhouse gases which threaten our lives. The presenter convinced me that the earth needs to be rescued. I liked the fact that in this movie Al Gore gives us a scientific proof after every point or problem he mentioned and that makes no doubt that we are causing this problem. One of the problems that got my attention is that the possibility of a return of the ice age. It really made me think deeply about all the people who will suffer from the return of ice age. All this proof and points make me change my mind about Global Warming. I didn’t like the way he ended the presentation because he took a lot of time to explain the problem but he give easy solutions for this problem. It needs more than that. For finding a solution to this issue we must study the problem wisely to make sure it will never affect us or our economy.
